6-8-21 TUESDAY Max effort upper

With Nationals on a weekday, max effort upper will be moved to Tuesday to lead into Nationals with a smoother peak.  Lifters, please give priority to those competing at Nationals for time and equipment.

Main work

  • Board (2) press 3x1x90% or new max
    Don't FAIL.  We train max effort to learn how to strain, not how to fail. Move away from thinking of only the number on the bar but keep the PURPOSE of your training in the forefront of your mind. Every Rep matters right now.
  • Wide grip 3x6x75%
  • DB incline press 3x15
  • seated rows 3x12-15
  • Superset:
    • Tricep push downs 5x20 - use lat machine if available
    • hammer curls 5x10-12

    Second workout

    • banded facepull 1x100
    • Banded seated or incline rows 1x100
    • banded tricep pull down 1x100
